Location Troubleshooting

 

·      We recommend using Google Chrome as your browser.

·      Before doing any of the steps below, clear your Browsing Data under History. Make sure to select “All Time”, and that the tabs for “Browsing history”, “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached images and files” are selected.

 

 

1.   I cannot access www.5cardraw.ca - What should I do?

 

Per AGCO regulations – you must be located within the province of Ontario at the time of your ticket purchase. Your device’s locations services must be turned on to verify your location prior to entry to the online 5 Car Draw sales platform. Users must also agree to all Terms and Conditions outlined.

 

2.   Why does www.5cardraw.ca require my location? Why am I receiving the following prompt: "www.5cardraw.cawould like to use your current location"?

 

Per AGCO regulations – you must be located within the province of Ontario at the time of your ticket purchase. Your current location will confirm your eligibility.

 

3.   What if I already selected "Don't Allow"?

 

Reloading the page should cause you to be prompted to share your location again. If you have specified that you never want to share your location, you will need to go into your settings to allow. See Enable Device Location Services Section.

 

4.   What if I receive one of the following prompts? 

 

·      "You must allow your browser to share your location to purchase tickets. Please enable location services for this browser and try again."

·      "Location information is unavailable. In order to purchase tickets your location must be able to be determined. Please enable location services for this browser and try again."

·      "The request to get user location timed out. In order to purchase tickets your location must be able to be determined. Please enable location services for this browser and try again."

·      "An unknown error occurred while attempting to determine your location... In order to purchase tickets your location must be able to be determined. Please enable location services for this browser and try again."

 

These prompts are related to your Location setting. You may have told your browser to never share your location. You have to change that setting before continuing with your ticket order. See Enable Device Location Services Section.

 

 

Enable Device Location Services

 

Select from the devices below, to enable your access to the E-Commerce site - iOS Mobile Device (iPhone), MacOS Desktop (Apple), Windows, Android Smartphone. Instructions for each are provided below.  

                        


iOS Mobile devices (iPhone)

1.   Go to the Settings App.

2.   Go to ‘Privacy’.

3.   Go into ‘Location Services’.

4.   Ensure ‘Location Services’ are on.

5.   Scroll down and click ‘Safari Websites’.

6.   Make sure that Allow Location Access is set to "While Using the App."

 Chrome has the same setting if you are using that instead.

 


Android Based Smart Phones

 

Check if location services is turned on. 

1.   Go to ’Settings’ App

2.   Go to ‘Location’ and make sure that it is on.

3.   This can vary by version or smartphone model

4.   On most Android Phones, you can also pull down from the top of the screen to show several clickable settings; ‘Location’ is usually available there also. 

If Locations is on, you may have previously blocked the www.5cardraw.ca site from using locations. To unblock it: 

1.   Open Chrome

2.   Click on the three vertical dots in the top right corner

3.   Select ‘Settings’

4.   Under ‘Advanced’ select ‘Site Settings’

5.   Select ‘Location’

6.   Upper right, click the magnifying glass

7.   Type www.5cardraw.ca

8.   If it appears in the search results click it

9.   Click the ‘Clear & Reset’ button that appears

10.                 Retry your purchase on www.5cardraw.ca



Mac OS Desktop (Apple)

 

Check if Location Services is turned on 

1.   Open ‘System Preferences’

2.   Select ‘Security & Privacy’

3.   Select ‘Privacy’ tab

4.   Ensure ‘Location Services’ is checked

5.   If it is not checked click the lock icon in bottom right corner of that window to make changes

6.   Enter in your Username and password

7.   Check The ‘Enable Location Services’ checkbox

8.   If it is checked look at the list of allowed applications and make sure the web browser, you are using is also checked. Note that Chrome will not show up here, but Safari and Firefox will

Q. What is the 5 Car Draw raffle?

The 5 Car Draw is a yearly lottery in which participants purchase tickets for a chance to win up to $205,132.69 in prizes to support Hospice Niagara.


Q. What can I win?

·      Early Bird Prize: One (1) $10,000 cash prize

·      Bonus Prize Draw: Five (5) $1,000 cash prize

·      Grand Prize Draw Prize: Five (5) vehicles OR the cash options

o  2021 Honda Civic Sedan LX CVT (MSRP $28,474.31) or $22,000 cash

o  2021 Toyota CHR LE (MSRP $29,287.91) or $22,000 cash

Q. When are the draws?

·      The Early Bird draw will take place at The Stabler Centre, 403 Ontario Street, Unit 2, St. Catharines, Ontario, at 3:00 p.m. on June 21, 2021.

·      The Bonus and Grand Prize Draws will take place at The Stabler Centre, 403 Ontario Street, Unit 2, St. Catharines, Ontario, at 6:30 p.m. on August 2, 2021.

Q. What is Hospice Niagara’s 5 Car Draw Lottery License Number?

 Hospice Niagara’s 5 Car Draw Lottery License number is RAF#1203669, as provided by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

  

Eligibility

 

Q. Do I need to live in Ontario to purchase tickets?

You do not need to live in the province of Ontario to purchase a 5 Car Draw ticket, but you do need to be physically located within the province of Ontario at the time of purchase of your online ticket to be eligible to play.

 

Q. Who is eligible to buy 5 Car Draw tickets?

If you meet the following criteria, you are eligible to purchase 5 Car Draw tickets:

·      Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of purchase

·      Must be located in the Province of Ontario at time of purchase

·      Must not be one of the following:

o  Hospice Niagara’s Board of Directors

o  Lottery Program Committee

o  Employees of Hospice Niagara

o  Registered gaming suppliers and employees of Bump5050, its affiliates and members of licensed gaming suppliers providing services to this program.

Note: Prior to the purchase of a ticket online, you will be required to verify your eligibility and that the information is complete and accurate.

Q. How much do 5 Car Draw tickets cost? 

·      1 ticket for $25

·      5 tickets for $100

·      10 tickets for $175


Q. How can I pay for my online 5 Car Draw ticket?

Our online 5 Car Draw website accepts the following payment types: Visa, MasterCard and American Express.


Q. Why is there a limit to the number of ticket bundles I can buy per order?

While there is no limit to the number of tickets you may buy, the lottery program has a limit of fifteen bundles per order (five of each bundle). If you would like to order more bundles, a separate order is required.

 

Q. When is the deadline to buy 5 Car Draw ticket?

 Sales will be cut off 15 minutes before the draws.

 

Q. Where is the winning number drawn posted?

Once the winning ticket number has been drawn, you can find it and the prize displayed online on Hospice Niagara 5 Car Draw website:
www.5cardraw.ca following the draws.

 

Q. How does Bump5050 generate tickets?

 All aspects of Hospice Niagara’s 5 Car Draw lottery are managed using a digital platform, or software program, that has been approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

There are no paper generated materials during this lottery. Everything is digital, including:

·      Tickets and ticket distribution

·      Draw process and management



Q. How are the winning tickets drawn?

A unique winning ticket number is randomly generated and issued out of the numbers purchased online. The mechanism for selecting the winning number is a computer-based random number generator that has been certified by the AGCO.

Q. I am trying to order my ticket. Why isn't it going through?

You must be located in the province of Ontario when ordering a ticket. Please ensure your location services are enabled so your location can be confirmed by the raffle program.

Q. Why haven't I received my ticket confirmation email?

Your email might have been diverted to your junk, spam or promotions folder. Once you locate the email, mark this as "not junk" or a safe sender so email from Hospice Niagara 5 Car Draw will be directed to your inbox.

  

Prizes & Winners

 

Q. How do I claim my prize?
All winners will receive a telephone call/email with instructions on how to claim their prize. Prizes must be claimed within six (6) months of the prize draw.

 

Please note: Online ticket sales must be claimed by the individual named in the original purchase transaction. Hospice Niagara is not responsible for any division of the winning prize amount to any other party other than the individual named in original purchase transaction.


Q. How will the winner be notified?

All winners will be notified by telephone and/or email as to their win and how to claim their prize. All winning ticket numbers and prize amounts will be posted on Hospice Niagara’s 5 Car Draw website following the draws. Prizes will be awarded to the registered ticket buyer.

Q. I cannot access www.5cardrawa.ca - What should I do?

Per AGCO regulations – please be advised that you must be located within the province of Ontario at the time of your purchase. Your device’s locations services must be turned on to verify your location prior to entry to the online 5 Car Draw sales platform. Users must also agree to all Terms and Conditions outlined.


Q. I purchased a 5 Car Draw ticket but did not get my numbers. What should I do?

If you did not receive your numbers, please check your junk or spam folders in the event it was flagged by your email provider. If you still do not have your 5 Car Draw ticket, contact
cardraw@hospiceniagara.ca and our support staff will re-send you your ticket numbers (some verification will be required). If your transaction completed successfully, your numbers will still be part of the draw.


TECHNICAL HELP

 

Q. Why does www.5cardraw.ca require my location and/or why am I receiving the following prompt – Example: "www.5cardraw.ca would like to use your current location?"
Your current location is required to confirm eligibility. The lottery will be offered throughout the Province of Ontario (the "Raffle Area"). Void outside the Raffle Area and where prohibited by law, rule, or regulation.

Q. What if I already selected "Don't Allow"?
Reloading the page should cause you to be prompted to share your location again. If you have specified that you never want to share your location, you will need to go into your settings to allow. See below for instructions.

 

Q. What if I receive the following prompt: "You must allow your browser to share your location to purchase tickets, please click OK/Close to reload this page, and then be sure to allow your browser to share your location to share your location when prompted"?

The browser should reload the page and ask you to share location upon loading.

Note: In some browsers, the popup may say "Close" instead of "OK"


Q. I entered the incorrect email and did not print my tickets, how can I get my tickets resent?
Please go to the Contact page and request that the lottery Manager email you your tickets again to the correct address.


Q: What if I can not purchase tickets on www.5cardraw.ca due to Location issues?
You may have told your browser to never share your location. You need to change that setting to allow sale.

For iOS devices:
1) Go to the Settings App.
2) Go to Privacy.
3) Go into Location Services.
4) Ensure "Location Services" are on.
5) Scroll down and click "Safari Websites."
6) Make sure that Allow Location Access is set to "While Using the App."

Chrome has the same setting if you are using that instead.

For Android (though this may vary by version):
1) Go to Settings App.
2) Go to Location and make sure that it is on.
3) Go back to previous screen and go to Apps.
4) Go to Chrome.
5) Click Permissions.
6) Ensure that Location is enabled.


Note: If still experiencing problems, go to maps.google.com in your browser and see where it places you.


Privacy

 

Q. Will my name be publicized if I am a winner?

In accordance with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulations, winner information must be collected and provided to the AGCO, including ticket number, full name and contact information.

 

Winner information will also be published to the 5 Car Draw Lottery website. By claiming a prize, winner consents to the use of their photograph, first and last name, ticket number, city/town of residence and the audio/video recording (or written transcription) of the winner notification telephone call, for any publicity purposes by Hospice Niagara.  Winner information may be released to the news media and may be used in advertising for the Hospice Niagara’s 5 Car Draw advertisement, or Hospice Niagara’s future events.
